Bundles of Liberation brings you locally grown food, recipes, healing herbs, personalized astrology, acupuncture. We have gathered an epic team of Black and Latinx practitioners and LGBTQ farmers to provide you with accessible and consistent access to holistic wellness in 2018. We hope this collaboration will sustain our capacities to continue the activism, creative, and healing work we dedicate ourselves to.
It's a way for us to be part of the food system in a way that is loving towards individuals, families, communities, farmers, and the land. Our families’ seeds, recipes, dinner tables, knowledge of herbs and the stars have been such a huge source of resilience for our people. We hope to continue in the legacy of those who came before us.

Hola! My name is Chef Gabriela Álvarez. I'm the founder of Liberation Cuisine and I cook for radical love and freedom in the world. I believe wholeheartedly that we can create a new standard for food in our lifetime. I love preparing Puerto Rican and Caribbean dishes and infusing them with ingredients local to the northeast of the US, where I live. I cook almost exclusively for people committed to justice and love to collaborate with other cooks and chefs in my communities. I'm so excited about this new project I've gotten to co-create with this team. May it uplift, strengthen and ground us!
We are Rock Steady Farm & Flowers: a for-profit farm located in Millerton, NY that is cooperatively-owned by queer farmers and is grounded in close partnership with other land-based projects like the Watershed Center and Wildseed Collective. We use holistic farming practices that allow us to grow high quality vegetables, cut flowers and herbs for a diverse array of market outlets. We love having a direct connection to the people that are benefiting from our food and flowers, and who are supporting our business.
Hi, my name is Giselle Castaño. I'm a spiritual astrologer currently based out of Seattle, Washington situated on Duwamish and Suquamish land. I've been reading charts and holding astrology workshops since 2015. It is always a deep honor to encounter someone with their chart. As a consulting astrologer, I believe each individual is master of their own faith and entirely capable of making any changes they call into their imaginations no matter how impossible it may seem. I look forward to sharing the astros with you this season!

Hey, my name is Sára Abdullah and I am an indigenous SWANA/Pinay non-binary femme Muslima descended from nomadic dream-weavers, kitchen witches, tricksters, and storytellers. I honor those who came before and those who gather with me in circle through a life's work in plant medicine, healing, magic, writing, and nurturing the creative spirit in myself and in others. I created Earth Seed Holistic to share botanical offerings and herbal consultations, trauma-informed counseling, creativity support, energy work, full-spectrum doula companionship, and workshops centered in plant medicine and nurturing creativity. I look forward to supporting your connection to our plant ancestors through this CSA!
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Bundles of Liberation for me?
Our goal is for Bundles of Liberation to reach as many community organizers, activists, people of color, LGBTQI folks, healers, educators, artists, poor and working class people as possible. If you don’t identify with any of these experiences, consider joining us with the intention of uplifting folks that do hold these identities by sponsoring someone that needs financial backing. Contact us to be a sponsor!
Why the CSA model?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture which is a structure for community to partner directly with local farmers by paying for a share of the harvest upfront in exchange for fresh organic veggies throughout the growing season. 100% of your dollars go directly to the farmers! This is not the case with Farmers Markets or other meal kit services (like Blue Apron), which take a significant cut. You can read more here for detailed information on how it all works.
Where and when do I pick up my CSA share?
There are two pick-up sites in Manhattan and one in Brooklyn.
Clinton Hill JCC. 309 Grand Ave. #1 Brooklyn, NY 11238 - pick-up times are Wednesday 2pm-7pm
Callen-Lorde. 356 West 18th St. NY, NY 10011- pick-up times are Wednesday 11am-3pm
The LGBTQI Center 208 West 13th- pick-up times are Wednesday 11am-7pm
What if the cost is a challenge?
In order to truly stand in solidarity with farmers, we’re committed to long-term (full season) and upfront financial support. This kind of alignment is what farmers really need in order to stay viable in today’s climate. We also recognize that capitalism creates real challenges for many of us. Rock Steady has worked out a way for our community to pay in installments and offer a reduced price for folks with EBT or SNAP. If this is still not financially feasible for you, we’re committed to having it work out. Reach out to us directly and we’ll think together about possibilities.
Can I share my CSA box? Absolutely! We actually recommend going in on a Basic Bundle with someone or others. It's a great way to spend more time with our loved ones and cuts the cost. Each box of vegetables feeds 1-4 people, depending how much you love veggies.
